I'm a horrible blogger...

So I had every intention last year to be a good blogger. I enjoy writing and I thought it would be a good way to document my first year. Wow, that didn't happen!

Last year was awesome! I was so excited to finally be doing what I had always wanted to do and it didn't disappoint. The last couple weeks were a struggle for sure but I think that's how it is for everyone!! I had a lot of great students and they were very patient with me as I tried out new techniques and ideas on them. Not just new to me, but new for most of the teachers in our school! I was blessed enough to participate in some additional trainings and learned from some amazing people!

I also had a pretty awesome summer! My highlights were my trip to Oregon with some of my friends (we drove which was crazy and an adventure all at the same time!) and the S.T.E.M. camp I helped with at the high school for a week. (S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) It was a great week and it was so much fun to watch the kids learn and have a good time, I can't wait for it to happen again!

As sad as I am that summer is over, I am pretty excited about starting a new school year! I'm excited for many reasons. The main one being, I am no longer a first year teacher so instead of trying to keep my head above water, I feel like I have a pretty good tread going on. I'm ready to have a fresh start and try more new things with my students. I love working in a district that encourages my passion for technology and trying unique techniques!

Since I am treading water this year, and might just start an actual swim, I'm committing to blogging again! It will last this time!! I'm committing to one post a month for right now, and hopefully I can grow from there. So if you're reading this, keep me accountable!

P.S. I just read my post from April about blogging this summer, and I realize that didn't happen so I'm going to make myself big reminders!!

A better blogger

My goal this summer is to be a better blogger! I want to be a good example so my students will want to blog more as well. Stay tuned to see what I did this last school year and what my plan for next year is!
